As a church we are a local family who are on a mission to reach out to those we know right where we are, but we also have a heart to see communities around the world touched by the good news. To see this desire turned into action we support BMS World Mission who would like everyone to experience fullness of life in Jesus Christ. Their three ministry areas – Heart for the Gospel, Hope for the World and Help for the Journey – are all about helping people across the world find abundant life in Christ.

Working with BMS and through informal connections we partner with a number of mission workers. This has allowed us to support and to build personal relationships with people working around the world to lead others to faith in Jesus Christ and the abundant life he offers.

Mission partners.

Dave and Michele Mahon are both Baptist ministers. They are passionate about the scriptures, especially in the areas of pastoral care, prayer, discipleship and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Dave and Michele felt called by God to leave London with their family and serve with BMS in Peru.

After arriving in 2017, they initially worked in the Peruvian Amazon, where they trained and supported local pastors and churches. In January 2023, they relocated to the coastal city of Trujillo to join a Baptist Seminary, where they are involved in preparing Peruvians for mission. Their heart’s desire is to see people experience the abundant life of Christ.

C & J* are connected to the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society and they work in a country in South Asia, which is where they met. They have been married since 2018.

The organisation which they work for provides work for local people, enabling them to produce fairly traded goods. They also provide teaching, from English classes to learning to ride a bicycle and activities for local children to keep them entertained at weekends.

BMS World Mission Birthday Scheme.

Our church takes part in the BMS Birthday Scheme. The co-ordinator will send a birthday card to each member at around the time of their birthday, enclosing a gift envelope, which allows the recipient to donate to the work of BMS. Here are some examples of how your donation can help:

  • Your birthday can help medics in Chad keep vulnerable mothers and babies safe in childbirth.
  • It can help struggling families in Uganda put food on the table by improving farming techniques and increasing crop yields.
  • It can share the gospel with people who have never heard the good news of Jesus, so that they may find faith in Christ and the fullness of life that only he can bring.

If you are interested, please contact administrator@leambaptist.uk who will pass on your name to the Birthday Scheme Co-ordinator.
